Nordic Yards is one of the world's leading manufacturers of technologically sophisticated and innovative special ships with a strategic focus on the field of Arctic shipping. As a technological leader in the field of high-tech shipbuilding, the company – whose headquarters is in Wismar – concentrates on special ships such as ice-breaking and ice-going ships, special tankers, ferries and advanced offshore constructions. The company combines innovative high-tech production with strict adherence to delivery dates and stands out due to the excellent quality of its ships.

Nordic Yards maintains two shipyards with direct access to the Baltic Sea in Wismar and Warnemünde. The two locations are some of the most modern, efficient and largest of their type in the world. Since their foundation in 1946 the shipyards in Wismar and Warnemünde have produced over 900 ships in 74 different designs. After its successful reorientation, Nordic Yards will have up to 1,600 highly qualified employees in the long term.

The sole owner of Nordic Yards is the Russian investor Vitaly Yusufov.
