In January 2002 the first bank with 100% Azerbaijani capital was opened in Moscow under the patronage of the Government of Azerbaijan. The International Bank of Azerbaijan (Baku, IBA - www.ibar.az), the biggest bank in the Republic founded in 1992 on the basis of the Azerbaijani republican division of the Vnesheconombank of the USSR, currently owned by the state is the parent bank and founder of the Bank «IBA-MOSCOW». The Bank «IBA-MOSCOW» is the first bank in Russia with 100% foreign capital from a CIS country.

The main objectives of the Bank «IBA-MOSCOW» in Russia include: expanding geography of IBA Group operation and business, developing trade and economic relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, servicing a large number of Azerbaijani migrants in Russia and implementing intergovernmental agreements of Azerbaijan and Russia.
