Main activities:

Aker Arctic Technology Inc, located in Vuosaari district of Helsinki (Finland), is an independent company for marine Arctic technology development. Its ice model testing facility built in 2006 is currently considered the most modern one in the world. Aker Arctic specialises in development, design, engineering, consulting and testing services for ice-going vessels, icebreakers, offshore marine structures, marine transport solutions and ports. Among recent projects are icebreakers of serie "Alexander Sannikov" for GazpromNeft under constraction on Vyborg Shipyard (Russia), gas condensate carrier for Yamal LNG project under constraction in China. Can be mentioned also participation in the design of the new Canadian polar icebreaker as well as the concept design of the Polar Research Vessel for the Government of the Peoples’ Republic of China. Aker Arctic was also engaged in the development of the so far largest Arctic LNG carriers for the Yamal LNG.
