HEISCO Marine Outfitted with the Autoship System

Autoship Systems Corporation (ASC) of Vancouver, Canada is pleased to announce a new installation of their naval architecture and ship production software to a shipyard client in the Middle East. HEISCO (Heavy Engineering Industries & Shipbuilding Co.) has chosen The AutoSHIP WORKS Package which will allow them to take a new project through the complete design spiral - from hull lines right through to nested parts - in a shorter timeframe.

The Marine division of HEISCO was established in 1974 (as Kuwait Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Co.) to meet the needs of the shipping and maritime industry in the Northern Arabian Gulf. Over the years the Marine division has diversified its initial core business activities to meet requests for new engineering projects. They sought out Autoship Systems to provide a new engineering solution.

HEISCO Marine is now capable of undertaking design and construction of ocean-going vessels. Fully equipped, covered shipbuilding workshops with NC cutting machines and automatic welding processes, highly skilled multinational work force and quality assurance systems offers their clients cost effective and high quality engineering to satisfy their new building requirements.

HEISCO Marine recently designed and constructed a multi-purpose Oil Spill Recovery Vessel M.V. Wara and delivered to its owner Kuwait Oil Company. The vessel is specialized in fighting oil related pollution including Oil spill recovery vessel M.V. Wara built by HEISCO Marine chemical dispersing of spilled oil in the Arabian Gulf water. Besides being a pollution and fire fighting ship, it is also used as a tailing tug for vessels, while loading at SPM terminal facilities in Kuwait. For more information on HEISCO, go to:

The AutoSHIP WORKS Package consists of Autoship (hull design), Autopower (resistance & power prediction), Autohydo (hydrostatics & stability), Autoplate (shell expansion), Autostructure(internal structural design) and Production Managero (nesting & parts management). This complete system combines robust software functionality with the best in GUI (graphical user interface) design resulting in an optimal user experience. Autoship Systems continues to see strong growth amongst shipyards looking to bring their marine engineering in-house. Training on the system can be completed in ten (10) days.
