Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard commissions the second plasma-cutting machine

Nizhniy Novgorod, April, 14, 2009 - Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard commissions the second plasma-cutting machine (PCM) with a rotatable plasmotron for plasma cutting and auxiliary plasmotron for marking. ESAB (Sweden) is the original equipment manufacturer.

The second plasma-cutting machine has a desk with the length of 31 m and width of 3.8 m. The desk of the first machine commissioned in 2006 has the length of 25 m and width of 3.8 m. Launch of the second PCM will enable the shipyard to accelerate the cutting process, automate the marking and release 8 operators. The thermal cutting machines utilization totals 75-85%. At present no analogues of this sate-of-the-art machine are used at the Russian plants.
