Keppel Shipyard Singapore Relies on AutohydroЃ
March 8, 2010 - Autoship Systems Corporation (ASC) of Vancouver, Canada is pleased to supply additional licenses of its Autohydro hydrostatics and stability calculations software to Keppel Shipyards of Singapore.
Autohydro is the main hydrostatic and stability program used at the offices of Keppel Offshore & Marine for new design and conversion projects in the offshore sector. The additional Autohydro licenses will enable Keppel's naval architects to rapidly produce stability books for Class Approval.
Keppel Offshore currently operates with 8 Autohydro licenses and now their sister company, Keppel Shipyard, will add a 2nd license. Autohydro 6.4 offers cutting-edge stability software to its 1,500 User Base, such as the ‘Auto-Ballast' feature: given one or more tanks and a targeted draft, trim and heel, the Auto-Ballast function will automatically calculate tank fills for selected tanks to satisfy given targets.
Keppel Shipyards, located in neighboring Tuas, first successful conversion of a tanker to an FPSO was completed in 1981. They are now a world leader in the conversion of FPSO and FSOs holding the record for most completed projects.
Keppel Shipyard has delivered FPSO/FSO conversions to several clients including Yetagun FSO, Espadarte FPSO, FPSO Falcon, FPSO Brasil & FPSO Serpentina to Single Buoy Moorings Inc (SBM), Espoir Iviorien, FPSO Petroleo Nautipa, Abo FPSO to Prosafe Production, and FPSO Marlim Sul (pictured below) to SBM; and Dampier Spirit and Karratha Spirit to Teekay Shipping.
