DNV Certified Novoship Integrated Management SystemOn 25 August 2010, the final ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certificates were handed over to the President of Novoship Igor Tonkovidov. The Norwegian classification society Det Norske Veritas (‘DNV') was represented by Nils Andreas Masvie, Regional Director for DNV Energy, who brought the certificates to the Novoship office in Novorossiysk (Russia).
In 2010, in addition to the intermediate audits of the Quality Management System (ISO 9001 standard), the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001 standard) and the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS 18001 standard), DNV has inspected the Safety Management System of Novoship for compliance with the requirements of the ISM Code. The audits in the Company office and on board ships did not reveal any non-conformities. Furthermore, the inspectors registered a number of good practices in the field of risk assessment, incident investigation, sea staff training and corrective actions to the observations received during external audits and inspections.
In future DNV will conduct intermediate audits annually, and new certificates will be issued every five years.
The certified integrated management system of Novorossiysk Shipping Company is the evidence of exceptionally safe and efficient shipment of cargoes. It underlines the Company's high standing with its first-class customers - major oil companies and traders.
