Femco Group has taken delivery of Newly-Biult AHTS Aleu
On 28 November 2015 christening and delivery ceremony for a newly- built Havyard 843 ICE design icebreaking offshore vessels AHTS “Aleut” was held at Skoltekaien quay in Bergen, Norway.
On board there was a christening ceremony in which a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church in Bergen Father Dmitro has blessed the vessel and crew. The Godmother, Mrs. Nadezhda Lyshko christened this vessel as “ALEUT”.
Icebreaking Anchor-Handling Tug Supply vessels (AHTS) was built Havyard Ship Technology`s shipyard in Leirvik in Sogn, Norway, using HAVYARD 843 ICE design. AHTS «ALEUT» is designed and built to operate under extreme arctic conditions. The vessel has icebreaker class and engine power that allows it to break ice up to 1,3 meter-thick at 3 knots, and a de-icing system so that it can withstand temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees Celsius.
Following FEMCO GROUP tradition ice class offshore vessel was named in honor of indigenous population of North – «ALEUT». AHTS «ALEUT» is the first of the three Havyard 843 ICE icebreaking offshore vessels for FEMCO GROUP.
Nowadays FEMCO Group owns and operates 12 vessels. In accordance with program of fleet renewal and further market expansion FEMCO Group expects delivery of 4 newly-built offshore vessels in 2016: AHTS «Normann» (Havyard 843 Ice design), AHTS «Pomor» (Havyard 843 Ice design), AHTS «Katun» (SPA-150 design) and AHTS «Alexei Kuznetsov» (SPA-150 design).
